In the EOD Zip file we provide, we provide separate files for NSE, NSE Futures, NSE Options and BSE. You can download the files (from links above) and then after unzipping them, delete those you do not need.

see in the thread No.11 in this page. Click on first address it will goto 4shared.com. From there you can download nse data upto 30-12-2008. After that you download monthwise files from jan.09 to 30-06-2009. use " import metastock data" for Nse data upto 30-12-2008. After that create import wizard
settings for one day. Then use import ascii for rest of all files. If you dont know how to do all these, go to bsense2005 site. There instruction file is there.

Download the monthly files. Extract all files and delete files other than those of Futures. you can them import them easily.

Personally I do not believe that there is any advantage in using IEOD tick data other than blowing up the database massively.

If you are looking for tick data, check out http://www.truedataindia.com/page.php?&p=12. They provide IEOD tick data at a cost of Rs.500.00 per month (Rs.400.00 per month for Historical data).

There may be other vendors too, but am not sure about the same.

TDI provides intraday data using Yahoo but use some other data source for historical since the ticker names do not match.

Each day's EOD zip file contains 4 CSV files

BSE dd-mm-yy.csv - All BSE Cash Segment Data + BSE Indices
NSE dd-mm-yy.csv - All NSE Cash Segment Data + NSE Indices
FUT dd-mm-yy.csv - NSE Futures Contracts - Spot-Month Continuous methodology
OPT dd-mm-yy.csv - NSE Option Contracts - Spot-Month Continuous methodology.

We do not provide any files individually and you have to download the zip. If you require only data files for a particular segment, you can extract only that file while unzipping.

I first started the uploading of consolidated files when we started DTM since we were Free at that point of time and hence there was a restriction as to how many files you can download.

Even after we went paid wherein a member can easily download 2.5 months of data in a single day, I constantly kept updating since I hoped that new members who wanted to see the data quality before subscribing had a chance to build their historical database and only then subscribe if they felt that the data quality served their purpose.

Unfortunately while data downloads had been huge, number of conversions are low than what I assumed would happen. Compared to other data vendors, our fee is pretty pretty low. Also we use symbols of BSE and NSE which means that if you walk away from our subscription, you can still update the data with other sources. Compare that to say Viratech which has its own symbols for data provided by them. Once the subscription (for whatever period you have subscribed) is over, their data cannot be updated since the symbols are unique to Viratech & you cannot possibly get the same kind of symbols elsewhere.

We at DTM are NOT here for the sole purpose of making money. In fact till date none of the DTM partners have used any funds for our personal requirement and only use has been for the betterment and maintenance of the site. We wish to provide data in a way that is far better than competition here in India and inline with the quality provided by vendors in US. But since that costs huge capital investment, we are still providing our data services in the simplistic way of providing the data files in raw format for our members to use in their charting tools.

Taking all that into consideration, I have for now stopped updating the archives though for a new member (Gold) who wants, I am willing to upload and provide him the links so as to help him update his database faster.

Hello,

One of the key requirements for a Analyst and a Investor who uses Technical Analysis as one of his tools to identify stocks to Buy and Sell is the need for Quality historical data. Without quality data, a lot of analysis is a waste of time since its based on wrong inputs. As they say in software parlance, Garbage in = Garbage out.

At Desitradermall, our primary objective has been to provide as far as possible quality data at a extremely affordable price. While regular data vendors charge thousands of rupees for the same End of day Data, we are charging a small sum of just Rs.1000.00 per Annum.
