Data file not available...

Hey Mods,

Today, I received an SMS saying that the EOD file for 6-Jan is uploaded. However, the file is not available under Market Data section. Please have a look at this issue.

On clicking the file i am getting the following message :

vats, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Please note that i have not received an activation link email from desitradermall...but only a welcome note from destradermall.

Logout and login again. If problem persists, just mail me on my ID (prash454.ta @ gmail.com ) and I shall send across the EOD file you require.

For everyone who is facing this problem. When you go to the datafile link that is giving you this problem, can you please right click and copy the link address and then paste it here in this thread. This will help us debug the problem. As you realize very few people are having this problem.

Another thing to keep in mind is this:

1. If you tried to register multiple times then maybe you might not be able to download as we try to ban multiple registrations.
2. If you tried to download above your quota you will not be able to download for the day.

So please paste the above information and we will try to fix the problem as soon as possible

likely cookie issues... logout and login in .. else clear cache .. it would work

As pointed out by achinj, it might be a cookie problem. We use client-side caching in order for fast loading of pages. Sometimes this may result in old content.
Also another thing to keep in mind is that if you try to register multiple times then your new a/cs will be banned. The first a/c should still function. So if you are trying to download more files using new registrations please refrain from it. If we see a lot of trials of multiple registrations from members we might ban the first a/c as well.
We are currently in the process of monitoring and detecting problems on our side in order to come to a resolution for the members affected. As of now we see that everything is as it should be.
If the problem continues we might disable caching at the expense of faster loading times.

Hi vats,

Are you trying to access the data file link directly from your browser? In other words:
1. are you going to the data page and then clicking on the download link or
2.are you pasting the download link in your browser or
3.pasting the link in a download manager

In cases 2 or 3 you will get the error you mention. Only if you go through the data page or click on the link from a desitradermall.com webpage can you access the file.

I changed some settings in my firewall, and now i am able to download. Sorry for the trouble. Boy, that's some relief. :-)

In my firewall, i removed all the cookies blocking and the ad blocking for desitradermall. This enabled me to download the files.
